Launch of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Road Map for Disaster Risk Management 2014-2019

Today; 17 June 2015, Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) launched Disaster Risk Management (DRM) Road-map (2014-2019) at Islamabad Serena Hotel, which was facilitated by National Humanitarian Network-KP/FATA (NHN) and Care International. It has been developed after extensive consultation with all the relevant departments as well as humanitarian organizations to institutionalize DRM process for building resilient Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Director General PDMA KP, Mr. Amer Afaq acknowledged NHN and Care for their support. He further briefed the participants on thematic areas of DRM Road-map. The event was Co-Chaired by Additional Secretary Economics Affair Division (EAD), Mr. Omer Hameed.

NHN Chair and CEC members attended the event and expressed that Itbs a sign of a good gesture from Government side to work with Civil Society for promotion of the culture of safety and resilience in the region. Being representative of National and Local Civil Society NHN assured itbs cooperation and support to Disaster Management Authorities of Pakistan for building Disaster Resilient Nation in the country.
